Medicaid Doula Coverage
Private Pay Doula Support
- Starting in early 2023, all Medicaid insurers in Michigan are required to cover doula support services.
- These services include 12 visits for prenatal and postpartum support and 1 visit for birth support.
- All prenatal appointments are 1:1 via Telehealth or in my office.
- Postpartum visits are 1:1 and can be in the hospital, via Telehealth, in my office, or in your home. They are available for 12 months after birth.
- Support for pregnancy loss is included in this coverage and available for 12 months following your loss.
- Private Pay clients can pay for services using an FSA/HSA card, credit card, cash, check, or E-Gift Square Gift Card issued by Tranquil Touch.
- Your options range from ala Carte appointments to discuss the topics most important to you, private or group classes, birth support only, or a doula package.
- Postpartum visits via Telehealth or in your home.
- Superbills can be provided upon request for private insurance reimbursement.
- Due to inconsistencies within the Carrot system, I only accept Carrot on a case-by-case basis for previous clients. I can refer you to someone who accepts new clients using Carrot coverage.
